Some Kind of Shame

Poetry

You’re Not the Problem

Sorry I annoy you
I don’t do it on purpose
But if my being here upsets you
Then I’ll leave
And I won’t beg
Or cry
Or bother you
With my wondering why I can’t be loved

Poetry

Melancholy

I lay in the dark
Listening to sad songs
I pray something isn’t wrong with me
When my heart hurts
And head aches
All I can do is cry

Poetry

Tricks

My demons manifested
Into a man I couldn’t refuse
I dismissed your flaws
Because of how you loved me
And now …

Dreams

abstract-art-artistic-990826i have memories
more like dreams
of being alone
lost in time
a moment before i knew you
and there was nothing but hope
a time before i knew my own
now that memory is a feeling
not as vivid
hidden in eyes

Life Lessons

My mother once told me
If I wasn’t careful
I would end up disappointed
Broken
And alone
Who knew you’d be the one to prove her right

I’m Not a Revolutionary

I believe in freedom
That everyone has rights
We are not all equal
Some suffer more than others
We are not all noticed
Some get praised more then others
We are made out to be animals
Some cages are more obvious then others
I scream
You scream
But not over the same things
I cry
You cry
But she’s crying for her children
And when I die
And she dies
They won’t remember

Part Time

God I think you broke me
I’ve never seen these tears before
This hurt feels different
Maybe
It’s Because my love was real
And you were just practicing

Scars and Bruises

I can endure the heat on my skin
But not the way you burn
Enjoying the tiny scars
Not the frequent bruises
Rest in cruel words said during passion
After crying from ones said out of anger
I enjoy our moments of bliss
But can’t forget the loud noises and drowning tones that led to this
