My Girl

She whispers in my ear
“Stay with me”
Her words
They mean nothing
I hold her
And she’s rigid
I kiss her
And she stiffens to my touch
She is disgusted by me
Herself
Full of shame
But I love her
She struggles with self loathing
She can’t ignore the people that stare
She believes she might be going to hell
I’ve tried to convince her otherwise
I’ve told her our love is just as pure
I’m losing her
And I don’t want to let her go
